Annette Lantos

Annette Lantos works full-time with her husband, Congressman Tom Lantos of California, as Executive Director of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. She spearheads efforts to help human rights victims, including those persecuted for religious and political reasons.

She is the distinguished founder and chairperson of the International Free Wallenberg Committee established in 1977. The Committee brought awareness of Wallenberg's humanitarian efforts, notably, saving 100,000 Hungarians from Nazi death camps. In recognition of her contribution to advancing human rights, Mrs. Lantos has been interviewed on several national news programs, including an interview with Dan Rather on CBS's 60 minutes.
