FoFG works to inform US government, state and local officials of the various issues surrounding the persecution of Falun Gong. On July 24th 2002, with the help of dedicated friends and supporters, we were able to unanimously pass H. Con Res 188, with a vote of 420-0, denouncing the persecution and demanding that the Jiang Zemin regime cease and desist. This sends a powerful message to both the PRC and the White House.

We depend on you to help us continue these efforts by contacting your senators and representatives, as well as your local officials, to express your concerns. Remember, it is the responsibility of your elected officials to represent you, and to take action to respond to the concerns of their constituents.

By Telephone
Calling is the most effective way to raise your concerns to government officials. If possible, ask to be connected directly to the legislator's aide. It is important to give the full name of any legislation that you are asking your official to support and to briefly describe the legislation. This avoids confusion among resolutions with similar names and numbers.

By Fax
Faxing a letter or message to your representative is also recommended. It is a good idea to include your own phone and address in case someone wants to contact you for further information. It is also helpful to make a follow-up call after you fax, to make sure your letter has been received.

Email and Traditional Mail
Sending email is very convenient, and email addresses or "Send a Letter" links are usually available on the website of the official you want to contact. However, because email and regular mail might not be read in a timely manner, we advise you to also make a follow-up call or fax as well. Calls and faxes generally create more impact than email.
